If you would like to give your current players a fun treat, I have a simple little addition for your next update:

Rare Alternative Chicken Skins.

Serves no point at all, but it would be cute, it could spawn some fun unique-to-Meor context for the playerbase, and tell me you don't want to find the legendary Rainbow Chickster

(+1)

I mean hell I might even save the legendary Rainbow Chickster for stuff I do and make later myself

(+1)

Thanks for the suggestion! That sounds pretty cool ;)

I downloaded Meor but the problem is my laptop is 2nd hand and can't run HD/4k games properly I tried to open Meor but it was showing loading stuff... I waited for so long and it didn't open then I tried using potato and lowest quality but it didn't open can u please solve my problem and also I played without internet can u please tell me that is it because of internet.

Thanks.

Hi!
It would be very helpful to DM me your Player.log and Player-prev.log in <User>\AppData\LocalLow\NelStuff if you have time. You can DM me on Discord if you want.
Most reports of getting stuck at the loading screen have solved it by both updating the AMD drivers and deleting the WorldData folder in  <User>\AppData\LocalLow\NelStuff.
Also, remember that the minimum supported GPU is GTX 650 or equivalent.

It would be cool if merch was made but you can't have merch in a pre-alpha.

    • oh man everytime i try to download the latest file the file starts downloading but just before finishing it gets cancelled and shows " failed-forbidden" anyone who can help??

I like the concept. Even with limited types of blocks, you can still do more than in Minecraft. I spotted a bug - when using a brush size of more than 20, sand and water physics gets broken. Btw I noticed that game is without ambience or music at all and, I get struck by the idea that I can help with music or ambient. So, I made ambience tracks and, if you would like them, I won't resist helping with the soundtrack. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1C2JH68sHtH6nsrZClE91CssQWQkIAx0b?usp=sha...

Just tried it out. Pretty cool way of building. Especially like the fact that you can build in the clouds if you got them turned on. Hope to see more soon!

If there was blood in this game it would be a voxel map with voxels 1/16th of Minecraft's voxels in terms of size, right?

I made a song. Maybe it can be background music. It ends with x end of the name and its a .co link so i can't give it here, but i made music for it on discord. Its called Senpai Gabriel's Normal Server (that's the name of the server). Just click and press play.

Hello I showed this to my son a few weeks ago in VR (vorpx) and now he asks to play it every weekend.

Must try out the Mar13 version next week.

I'm glad your son likes it! I didn't know vorpx existed, I learned something new.

Adding weather would be cool haha - Hey Nel the game is awesome and I have made videos on my youtube channel showing it - my channel is NINJARICHARD1984         I just want to ask though if I may - how can I lay more than one single cube at a time when I have it in cube mode? I can't seem to resize the brush like when in carve/normal mode....it just says "1" and I can only lay one cube a time.....how can I add or take away loads of cubes like a massive brush size etc? Is it possible?

Thanks for testing it out! More than 1 block is not possible yet.

    i see ok thanks

I think that it would be cool if there was a way to make fire in the game. Maybe make the game a bit more interactive and maybe new tools? Maybe more mobs a proper day and night cycle and some biomes, but that will probably take 3 months.

Hey thanks a lot for the many comments! I'm really curious what you mean by making the game more interactive? Fire would be very cool!

    (+1)

I have a good idea for a tool! A flamethrower!

    (+1)

    Ice?

ive never understood the need people have for weather in games lol ive always found weather to be incredibly annoying

It's because it makes a more realistic and interesting experience (for people like me maybe not you ok but some people like it)

When sand falls it's kinda like the water when it goes on the ground it freaks out a tiny bit.

    (+1)

Also speaking of big brush sizes if you have a big brush size next to 20 something like that if you try to mine it just will not break.

    (2 edits) (+1)

It's not really the physics but when you have a big brush size place water against a wall while having a big brush size if you keep holding right click the water freaks out for a bit. Also there is a way to fly without pressing the button X. Pressing the C button you can throw stuff one is a shape, two is a sphere jump keep jumping  and keep on pressing the C button while facing down. The reason you can fly using this technique is because one, your jumping off it, two there is no cooldown meaning you can do this unlimitedly without falling back down unless you slip a bit. Also the game crashed my pc. And my parents are strict.

This game feels so nice to play- Everything from digging, to building, to the water, to even the way light spreads out from the torches when you place them!

Though, I found a bug in the latest release (My first time playing, so might also exist in older versions..)
If you set the pick size above 13.4 it stops working, even though the max size is 30.. I wanted to set it as high as I could to try and see how much lag I could make with the dropped tiles :P

    (+1)

Hi Kieee. Thank you for reporting this! I made it stop because it would be too overpowered, but I think for testing purposes it should not be limited. I'll disable the limit in the next build!

Also, you can mine clouds and water, both of which drop items but neither are actually destroyed.

    (+1)

Water physics are kinda weird not gonna lie. Maybe a patch for it? I'm not trying to stress nel (the developer) just take the time that you need. P.S I'm nine, ok this is not a letter but its starting to feel like one! And i don't like it!

Hi Senpai Gabriel! Thank you for playtesting Meor! Can you tell me in what way you think water physics is weird? I can try to improve it.

Can TNT be added to the game?

    (+1)

The game can really bug (lag for the USA) now i don't have a Geforce RTX 3090, so i play on potato. And will the game have physics in the future?

    (+2)

Do you have a multiplayer mode (without player limit) and a dedicated server planned for the future?

    Great job ;)

    Regards

    (+1)

Thanks! No multiplayer is planned. Do you think it's needed?

    (+1)

Depends on what you're planning for gameplay.
If it's strong enough in the singleplayer sense, then maybe not.

But the whole building, surviving, crafting aspect definitely IS better with friends.
    Usually.. :)

    (1 edit) (+2)

If you add a modding system and open it to multiplayer. Your game could be the next minecraft+ ^^

Yes! Minecraft for me was only ever fun with my friends; it's about building things together and sharing what you made with your friends. I'm so excited for this game, but I think multiplayer would really make it pop.

The game is basaclly   Minecraft at home AND I LOVE IT

    I'm glad you like it!

    (+1)

hey! love your project so far! It looks pretty. Only question I have, is can you add an option to hide the UI completely? Would be great for landscape images and so.

Also I'm  interested what other features will you come up with.

    (+1)

Hey thanks! You can take a screenshot without UI with F8 at this moment. It'll show up your installation folder. I'll make it an option in the future.

    (+1)

Oh, the chickens are so much fun!
    Chicken + Water = madness!
    What a wonderful project! :D

    (+1)

I like the huge tree you made!

    (1 edit)

Hehe thanks! was a bit spontaneous, And first try, Turned out prettier than i thought it would, And i think that says a lot about Meor, Because it's actually HARDER in Minecraft to pull off XD

Edit: I think it feels more "organic", So something like a tree or shaping terrain works surprisingly good. I did have some performance issues, this was probably due to the settings in the launcher being unresponsive so i left it at the default settings. (GPU: Quadro K4100M 4GB)

    (+1)

great games easy to play easy to understand a style of decorating never seen before with a creation opportunity larger than minecraft supert hate sequel

respect for the development of these games

    Thank you!

    (+1)

Fucking incredible work, man, good luck with adding gameplay elements that complement this awesome tech!

Thanks! Gameplay is the hardest part xD

    (+1)

Was giving it a thought today, and this tech could be a great opportunity to do something with similar mechanics to Noita, but in 3D? That would sell by the thousands lol

    (+1)

Would love to see an Invert Mouse (y-axis) option! Please, I beg ya man :)

    (+1)

BTW that Chrome Plated Steel material is amazing. Nice work.

Appreciate it! I'll add Invert Mouse to my todo list. I had no clue people actually used this option.

    (+1)

Thank you! Yeah, it's the "left handed" equivalent in the gaming world :)

    (+2)

Cool looking house that I built:

    (+1)

Wow, impressive. It's there a chance for a Linux native version?

    (1 edit)

Thanks! <3 Unfortunately Linux is not supported.

That's a no for me then, minecraft win this one.

    (+1)

No problem, I will try with Proton, it should work fine if there is no anticheat. Anyway good luck and great project!

    (+2)

    This is really impressive

    (+1)

If you release this on Steam please make sure to release it on Itch as well

    (+1)

Are you kidding? itch.io is my favorite platform!

    (+1)

I wish that I was. It's extremely common that people use Itch as a dumping ground for alphas/prototypes then once they get feedback they immediately abandon the platform for Steam and only use Itch as a billboard to advertise their Steam page. I dont know what site or Youtuber started this trend but I wish they would stop.  I dont even get the reasoning behind it , Steam takes a larger % of your profit away versus Itch and theres ZERO reason not to have an option for people to buy on both platforms. If I were a creator I'd want as many people to enjoy my game as possible.

Yooooooooooooooooo been following this on twitter for a long time and I am so stooooooooooooooooked!

    (+1)

    Yoooooooooo thank yoooooou

    (+3)

    This is so wholesome! <3

    (+1)

of course it is, the beer is mine heheh

Seriously great game mechanic idea, this inventorializing. Also lookin' good with them clouds!

    (+3)

this is unbelievably cool. My 3yo loves it, also her 6yo and 9yo cousins. And myself, 34. So you're sure to have something brilliant here. Few tiny things to do for a great experience: (listing easiest to implement with biggest effects)

    - please, gamepad controls, complete with chicken launcher button :)

    - please, button to reset world in menu. It's just chock-full of chickens now.

    - please, names for materials or if time permits a tiny swatch of the thing near crosshair or at bottom of screen

    - slightly bigger crosshair please

    - can you maybe force push the chickens? Somehow they seem to do it themselves, when stuck in a pit. Water pushes them, i think? It's really cool when it happens.

    - more things to feed the cannon! oh man oh man, what about custom things you could load in the Meor folder?? that would rock.

Anyway. You rock. Finally a game my 3yo can freely enjoy on the xbox controller (right now she's doing mouse for looking around, left dpad for moving, and keyboard C for.. well you know.

    :D cheers!

Hi Fawaz, thank you very much for testing it out and I'm glad you like it! Maybe one day I can make a game out of it :D
